      Paul Strangman Cadbury was born in 1895 and married Rachel Eveline Wilson on 24 June 1919. He was given absolute exemption from military service on the grounds of conscientious objection and joined the Friends Ambulance Unit (FAU) on 1 November 1915. Before joining the FAU he had been a member of the Friends Emergency and War Victims Relief Committee, a committee organised by British Quakers to provide help for refugees and victims during World War 1 He later became Chairman of Cadbury Brothers.
