    Manuscript written as a first person account of his life by Josiah Langdale, although possibly a later transcript of an earlier manuscript as it has a handwritten cover page giving details of Josiah Langdale's death in 1723, and listing a testimony written by his wife, Margaret Langdale, although this isn't included in this volume. It is entitled on the cover page 'Some Acco't of the Birth, Education Religious Exercises And visitations of God to that faithfull Serv't and Minister of Jesus Christ Josiah Langdale'.

    • Langdale, Josiah, 1673-1723
      Josiah Langdale of Bridlington, East Riding of Yorkshire, visited America with Thomas Thompson in 1700-1701 and went with Thomas Chalkley to Barbados and The Bermudas. In c.1710 he married Margaret Burton. C.1715 or 1717 he again visited America with Thomas Thompson and was at the Philadelphia Yearly Meeting in 1715. In 1723 he left for America with his wife and children but died on the voyage.
