    The fonds consists of a journal of the travels of Susanna Freeborn and Esther Palmer from Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, America (1704), a journal of the travels of Esther Palmer and Mary Lawson from Philadelphia to Maryland, Virginia, Carolina, America, and back to Philadelphia (1705), and a journal of the travels of Esther Palmer and Mary Banister in Maryland and Virginia, America (1705).

    • Champion, Esther, d.1714
      Esther Champion (born Palmer) was the daughter of Joseph Palmer of Flushing, Long Island, America. She was a minister and held meetings where there had been none before. She travelled with Susanna Freeborn and visited the island of Nantucket, America, and New England, America. She also accompanied Mary Lawson to Maryland, Virginia and Carolina, America. Later she returned to Virginia and Maryland with Mary Banister. She married Richard Champion (1675-1748) of Bristol, Somerset, as his second wife and there are 2 children recorded from this marriage. She contracted small-pox and died on 3 November 1714 in Bristol.

      Susanna Freeborn was a gifted minister and accompanied Thomas Story to some meetings in New England, America. In 1701, 1702, 1706, and 1713 she visited Nantucket, America, and in 1708 she visited some of the Southern Provinces.

      Mary Banister was a member of the Devonshire House Monthly Meeting. In 1704 she went to America with Mary Ellerton and 1705 she travelled with Esther Palmer (later Champion) to Maryland and Virginia. In 1706 she was at Burlington, New Jersey, at the meeting of ministering Friends.
