Meeting for Sufferings (qv) on 5 September 1924 received a minute from the Friends Foreign Mission Association (qv) and agreed (minute 4) to appoint a committee "to confer with Marshall Fox and see if anyone can be found to undertake the task of preparing a statement of facts on the Armenian problem such as has been outlined to place before the public. The Committee is also asked to consider what other steps may be taken to give further publicity to the whole question".(1) The committee reported to Meeting for Sufferings from 1926 to 1930.(2) It was laid down by Meeting for Sufferings on 1 April 1938 (minute 8) after it was reported that the committee "had not met since 1930, but was continued by correspondence in order to keep in touch with the United Committee of all British Societies for Armenian Relief", but that "many changes have now taken place with regard to the position of refugees and the Committee is now united in the desire that it should be laid down".(3) Chairman June 1925-August 1925 John W Graham August 1925-1933 Hilda Clark Secretary 1925-1938 Lucy B Backhouse _______________ 1.
